Introducing ADO.NET on the .NET Compact Framework

ADO.NET is the name given to the set of classes used for database access in the .NET programming world. The set of classes available in the ADO.NET world is rich and can seem overwhelming. However, simple data manipulation and even connections to remote database servers can be performed with just a few lines of code. This chapter is devoted to showing how to manipulate data locally on the device. It lays the foundation for later ADO.NET- related chapters, which cover how to work with data stored on servers.
