Guizhou is abundant in coal, phosphorus, mercury , aluminium, manganese, antimony and zinc reserves . Phosphorus and aluminium deposits are the third largest in the country. Mercury deposits total 38,000 tons, ranking first in China. Guizhou has a strong agricultural sector and is one of the main producers of tobacco . It is also well known for its tea products and large varieties of traditional Chinese medicinal herbs.
