28. Create an Auto Reply Message

If you use your handheld email account as a distinct account separate from your primary email account, you might want to clarify to people who send messages to your handheld account that you are away and might not reply as quickly as normal. For example, you may be traveling and not have constant wireless service, in which case you won't be able to reply as readily as you might from your desktop PC. Or maybe you just aren't the kind of person to immediately reply to every mobile email when you're out and about. Either way, you can benefit from adding an auto reply message to your handheld account, which is possible in the BlackBerry Web Client. The auto reply message you set is automatically sent in response to any messages sent to your handheld email account.

28. Create an Auto Reply Message

1.	Log In to the BlackBerry Web Client Site on Your PC If you aren't already logged in to the BlackBerry Web Client, navigate to the BlackBerry Web Client site using your desktop web browser. Enter your user ID and password in the appropriate fields, and click the Login button to log in.
2.	Navigate to the Auto Reply Page Click the Auto Reply icon on the top BlackBerry Web Client menu to open the Auto Reply page, which allows you to specify an auto reply message that is sent in response to messages received by your handheld email account.
3.	Enter an Auto Reply Message Enter an auto reply message in the edit field on the Auto Reply page. This message is automatically sent as an email in response to all messages received by your handheld email account. If no text is provided in the auto reply message (the default setting), no auto reply message is sent. An auto reply message is a good way to notify people if you are traveling or otherwise aren't able to respond to messages in a timely manner.
4.	Exit and Save Changes When you're finished entering the auto reply message, click the Save button to finish and accept the changes. If, for some reason, you want to cancel the auto reply message, just click the Cancel button instead.

TIP

If you'd like to get rid of a previously set auto reply message so it is no longer sent, clear out the edit field on the Auto Reply page and click the Save button to accept the change.
