Case

For data mining, the data and relationships that identify a single object you wish to analyze. For example, a product and all its attributes, such as product name and unit price.

Case Set

For data mining, a collection of related cases. Typically involves the way the data is viewed and not necessarily the data itself.

Closed Loop Processing

System designed to feed information back into itself. Can be used in data mining to make predictions more accurate.

Clustering Algorithm

One of two popular algorithms used by Analysis Services to mine data. Classifies data into distinct groups. As opposed to the decision trees algorithm, does not require an outcome variable.

Confidence Score

For Microsoft Speech Server SDK, a percentage value that represents the confidence that the Speech Recognizer is correctly interpreting the user's speech.

Continuous Variable

An input for a data-mining model built with Analysis Services. Usually is a numeric-based value that has an infinite range of possibilities.
