Adding Some Theme Music

The final, and necessary, touch to a good opening credits sequence is to have some music playing "under." On the DVD that accompanies this book we've provided you with just the thing, a mellow little tune called jazz-theme.wav. This is a a small sample from the SmartSound Quicktracks collection (www.smartsound.com). We'll add this to the Audio 1 track and adjust the volume a bit so that it's not too overpowering, and our sequence is complete.

Add a Little Music for the Final Touch

Click the Get Media from button on the Media panel to access the Get Media from view, if it's not already active.

Select DVD, Digital Camera, Mobile Phone, Hard Drive Camcorder, Card Reader.

When the Media Downloader displays, click the Advanced Dialog button to switch to Advanced mode.

Select the jazz-theme.wav clip for this project.

Click the Get Media button. Premiere Elements copies the jazz-theme.wav clip from the DVD onto your hard drive and adds it to the Available Media list for this project.

From the Media panel, drag and drop the jazz-theme.wav clip onto the Audio 1 track on the Timeline.

Grab the tail end of the jazz-theme.wav clip and resize it so that it matches the length of the video clips.

In the Properties panel, adjust the overall volume of the clip by typing -12 dB (note the minus sign) in the Clip Volume control of Volume effect.

Click the Fade Out button for the Volume property.
