Templates or Framesets?

Chapter 8.  Dreamweaver Templates

Why do I have this topic? When I teach my Dreamweaver class, there is always at least one student who asks this question. Based on that experience, I am assuming that some of you reading this book right now might be scratching your head asking this very question.

The answer is simple. They have nothing to do with one another. You will not be making a decision between the two. In fact, you can use both. Remember that framesets are a set of separate documents held together by one parent document. Templates are documents that other pages will be based on. Who's to say that pages that load into your mainframe won't be based on a template? Therefore, there is no decision to be made between framesets, templates, or even tables for that matter. They all can be used together or independently of one another.
