Configuring Word 2007 Layout Options

In addition to readily available page layout and component layout options, Word 2007 provides a large collection of option settings in the Word Options dialog box. In relation to layout options, if you can’t find an option you are looking for on a tab, menu, or gallery, consider visiting the Layout Options list included in the Word Options dialog box. To access the Layout Options list, click the Microsoft Office Button, Word Options, Advanced. Then, scroll to the bottom of the Advanced screen and expand the Layout Options item. You’ll find a list of options similar to the one shown in Figure 10–7. Scan through the options to see if any settings might meet your current or future needs. Note that none of the Layout Options check boxes are selected by default.

Figure 10–7: Word 2007 includes a long list of Layout Options that you can use on an as-needed basis. Reviewing the list helps you become aware of capabilities you might need now or in the future.
