Summary
There s obviously much more to DES than can be covered in a short piece of code. Nonetheless, DESClip covers all the basics of DES. It s possible even desirable to build a very rich editing program in DES, something along the lines of Adobe Premiere. The only difference between what you see in DESClip and what you see onscreen when you re using Adobe Premiere is user interface. Adobe Premiere makes all of this under-the-hood management of the timeline an intuitive process and allows you to easily change any of the source clips, transitions, effects, and groups that you d use when making a movie. But all of those user interface bells and whistles aren t the magic that makes movie editing possible that magic comes from DirectShow, and you now know how to construct your own sophisticated editing applications using DES.
