Musical Notation

Musical Notation

Assuming you have a Postscript printer or a printer that is configured to print graphics (like from a browser or The GIMP), you should be able to print your music. There are only a handful of programs that can be used, or claim they can be used, for musical notation. Here are just a few:

·                 Brahms

·                 Rosegarden

·                 GNU Lilypond

If you need music notation, make sure the program you choose accepts stan dard MIDI files as output by your MIDI sequencer program. The focus of this chapter is music creation, so I will not spend any more time on music notation. It's available, it's useful, and I encourage you to explore this subject if you have a need for it.
