There’s just no way to describe the frustration and aggravation that many users of Word have when trying to set up proper headers and footers. To get around the anomalies, I’ve seen people use textboxes, put section breaks on every page, and all sorts of other workarounds. Here, I share the secrets that make this process easy. I describe the different section breaks, when to use them, and how to get control of your headers and footers.
Under the Insert → Break menu, there are several types of breaks. They control your page layout and affect the use of headers and footers from one page/section to the next. To test some of the information provided below, you’ll want to have your Show/Hide button on.
