Adding Text and Formatting to Your Form

The first step to laying out your form is to enter all of the text that you want to include in the form. This can include paragraphs of text, as well as labels for the form fields. You can also include any images you like to spruce up the appearance of the form. For now, don't worry about getting all of the text and formatting just right ”you can modify it at any time. Figure 19.1 shows the beginnings of a form used by the administrators of a summer music camp to confirm registrations. The form is created so that it can be filled out in Word by camp staff and then sent to the camp participants . Note that it uses a Word table to align the content of the form. Tables work very well in this capacity.

Figure 19.1. This as-yet- unfinished form was created using a Word table. The form fields will go in the second and fourth columns .
