Chapter 7 -- Creating an Active Directory Implementation Plan

Chapter 7

About This Chapter

After you and your design team finish creating a site topology plan, the Active Directory directory services infrastructure design is complete and you are ready to begin thinking about implementing Active Directory. However, before you implement Active Directory, you must create an implementation plan that considers the issues involved in moving from your organization's current directory service to Active Directory. If your organization is running Microsoft Windows NT as its primary network operating system and using Windows NT directory services, you must gather information about the current setup and plan how you will make the transition to Windows 2000 Active Directory. If your organization is running another directory service, you must also gather information about the current setup and plan your transition to Windows 2000 Active Directory. This chapter explores directory service migration and synchronization issues that make up your Active Directory implementation plan.
