About the CD-ROM

The CD-ROM included with this book contains the following:

• IBM® DB2® Universal Database™ Enterprise Server Edition Version 8.2 for Windows® Operating Environments (see the Note).

• Several color figures in GIF format that appear in black and white in the book.

• Useful scripts to capture snapshots for monitoring and tuning your DB2 system.

• Reference materials in PDF format with descriptions of database manager and database configuration parameters, and examples of DB2 commands and SQL statements.

• A subset of the book's Resources section in text format so you can easily copy and paste URLs into your browser.

NOTE

The version of DB2 on this CD-ROM runs on:

• Windows NT Version 4 with Service Pack 6a

• Windows 2000 Professional, Standard Server, Advanced Server, and Datacenter Servers. Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 is required for Windows Terminal Server.

• Windows Server 2003 (32-bit and 64-bit).

• Windows XP Professional Edition (not Home Edition).

It is an Evaluation version that is valid for six months after installation. See Chapter 3, Installing DB2, for installation instructions.

If you would like to run DB2 on Windows XP Home Edition, download the DB2 Personal Edition install image from the DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows main Web page (www.ibm.com/software/data/db2/udb/).

We encourage you to print the figures included on the CD-ROM so that you can refer to them without needing to have the book with you.
