Layering Audio Tracks

Premiere handles audio clips much like how it works with video clips. After you import or digitize your sound files into a bin, you can add your in and out marks and edit the clip into your timeline. You can add up to 99 different audio tracks. To add new audio tracks, do the following:

  1. Click the triangle in the upper-right corner of the Timeline window, as shown in Figure 8.3.

  2. Select Add Audio Track.

or

  1. Select Track Options from the Timeline window menu. The Track Options window appears, as shown in Figure 8.4.

  2. Click Add. The Add Tracks window appears, as shown in Figure 8.5.

  3. Enter a value for the number of tracks you want to add.

  4. Click OK.

To delete a track, do the following:

  1. Click the triangle in the upper-right corner of the Timeline window.

or

  1. Select Track Options from the Timeline window menu. The Track Options window appears.

  2. Select the track you want to delete. The Delete button is available after you select a valid track to delete.

  3. Click OK.
