Going into the iTunes Music Store

You learned how to do this step in the previous chapter, but I included it again in this chapter just for completeness's sake. To move into the store, select the Music Store source on the Source List. The iTunes Music Store will fill the Content pane (see Figure 23.1). If your account is shown in the Account button, you are signed in and are ready to go. If not, click the Sign In button to sign in to your account (see Chapter 22, "Configuring iTunes for the Music Store," for help).

Tip

Unlike brick and mortar stores, when you shop in the iTunes Music Store, you can forget the muzak because you can listen to other sources in your Source List while you are shopping. If you look closely at Figure 23.1, you can see I was listening to The Lord of the Rings soundtrack while I shopped.

Remember that you can make the Source List narrower by dragging its Resize handle to the left. This can be helpful so that you can see more of the iTunes Music Store without scrolling.

As you move around the store, know that just about everything in the iTunes Music Store window is a link, from the album covers to the text you see to the ads showing specific artists. Just about anywhere you click will move you someplace else.
