The following table gives the letters of the Greek alphabet and their English equivalents. Where the English pronunciation of a Greek letter is not obvious, the table gives an example. Thus, the Greek letter alpha is pronounced as the "a" in father , the Greek letter ta as the "e" in hey , and so forth.
