Section 11.4. What s Next?

11.4. What's Next?

The concepts of ports and internal structure of a class, which are introduced in composite structures, are heavily reused for components in component diagrams. Component diagrams allow you to show the key components (or reusable parts) in your system. Components are typically major players in your architecture, using other classes to achieve their behavior, which is why internal structure is so important to components. Ports are often used to show the primary ways to use a component. Component diagrams are covered in Chapter 12.
