To create a task from the Tasks folder

  • On the toolbar, click the New Task button.

To create a task from any Outlook folder

  1. Click the down arrow to the right of the New button.

  2. On the drop-down menu, click Task.

To create a recurring task

  1. Create a new task.

  2. In the task form, click the Recurrence button.

  3. In the Task Recurrence dialog box, set the recurrence options you want, and then click OK.

To set or remove a task reminder

  1. In the Task form, select or clear the Reminder check box.

  2. If setting a reminder, set the date and time you want the reminder to occur.

  3. Click OK.

To modify task settings

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.

  2. In the Options dialog box, click the Task Options button.

  3. Set the task options you want, and then click OK in the open dialog boxes.

To assign a task to another person

  1. Create a new task.

  2. In the task form, click the Assign Task button.

  3. In the To box, type the address of the person you want to assign the task to, and add any comments in the comments area.

  4. Click the Send button.

  1. Open the task, and click the Recurrence button.

  1. In the Tasks list, click the task you want to delete.

  2. On the toolbar, click the Delete button.

To create a note from the Notes folder

  1. On the toolbar, click the New Note button.

  2. Type the note content.

  3. Click the Close button to save the note.

  • On the View menu, point to Arrange By, point to Current View, and click the view you want.

To assign a category to a note

  1. Open the note, click the Note icon in the upper-left corner, and click Categories in the drop-down list.

  2. Select the check box next to the category you want, and then click OK.

  3. Close the note.

To forward a note

  1. Open the note, click the Note icon in the upper-left corner, and click Forward in the drop-down list.

  2. In the To box, type the address of the person to whom you will forward the note, and then click Send.

To link a note to a contact

  1. Open the note, click the Note icon in the upper-left corner, and click Contacts in the drop-down list.

  2. In the Contacts for Note dialog box, click the Contacts button.

  3. In the Look in box of the Select Contacts dialog box, click the contacts folder where the contact entry to which you want to link the note is stored.

  4. In the Items list, click the contact entry you want to link to the note.

  5. Click OK, and then click Close.
