Creating a Port

A port is a named location using a specific communication technology (such as Message Queuing or BizTalk Messaging). In BizTalk Orchestration Designer, a port is defined by the location to which messages are sent or from which messages are received, and the technology that is used to implement the communication

To create a port

  1. In BizTalk Messaging Manager, on the File menu, point to New, and then point to Messaging Port.
  2. Click To an Organization to create a messaging port to a trading partner organization.
  3. The New Messaging Port Wizard opens.
  4. Type a name for the port, and then click Next.
  5. Browse for the Organization Name.
  6. Browse for the Primary Transport Address to display the Primary Transport dialog box.
  7. Select File as transport type.

    Note   For inbound IDocs, select Application Integration Component as transport type. Browse for the Component name and select SendIDocAIC SendIDoc, and then click OK.

  8. Type a file path address.
  9. Create this folder on your system drive if it does not exist. If it does, delete all the files in the folder.
  10. Click OK on the Primary Transport dialog box.
  11. Click Next.
  12. Select an envelope from Envelope information.
  13. Click Next.
  14. Click Create a channel for this messaging port and select From an organization.
  15. Click Finish to start the New Channel Wizard.
  16. Complete the procedures in the Create Channel section below.
