Now that you've seen an overview of Reason, you're ready to start your first song. In this chapter, you'll learn how to set up your first project by creating a custom Rack and a workspace for writing notes into a track. Most songs are constructed on top of a rhythm track, so to begin you'll create a beat and fine-tune it a bit. Once you have a beat, you'll have a foundation for adding melodies, bass lines, and ambient sounds to your song. You'll also learn how to correct timing inaccuracies using Reason's rhythmic grid settingshow they work, when to apply them in your tracks, and some ways to preserve and even enhance a sense of natural "feel" or human timing. Finally, you'll learn how to save your creation as an audio loop. |
