INTRODUCTION

There are numerous reasons you might want to move data in a worksheet. For example, if the layout of your worksheet changes, you might need to move data accordingly. Excel lets you move information from one cell to another cell instead of retyping data in the new cell and then erasing the old data.

TIP

Undoing a Move

If you move the wrong data or move the data to the wrong location, click the Undo button on the Standard toolbar to undo the most recent move. Then start over.
