Verbal praise or thanks should be given to every employee at least once a week. It doesn’t always need to be public, but it never hurts if it’s within earshot of other employees. Recognition is not meant to be a secret, it’s meant to be shared.

Remember, thank them for specific actions that help achieve your department goals.
