Objective 4.2: Configure Support for Multiple Languages or Multiple Locations


As a DST, you might have to assist users who have multiple languages on their computers. As more and more corporations expand to different areas of the world, computers must be able to format numbers, dates, times, and currencies to reflect these differences. You must be able to configure and troubleshoot regional and language options, as well as answer any questions that users might have about language settings, regional settings, or multiple locations configured on their computers.

As a DST, you should have an understanding of how to troubleshoot and configure the multilingual features of Windows XP. To answer the questions in this objective, you should know how Windows XP implements multilingual support and be familiar with the Regional And Language Options utility available in Control Panel. You should know how to add and remove installed input languages, and you should know how to customize the modifications of numbers, currencies, times, and dates.
