Exam Highlights

Before taking the exam, review the key topics and terms that are presented in this chapter. You need to know this information.

Key Points

  • Do not Confuse AutoComplete with Inline AutoComplete. Inline AutoComplete completes entries in the Address bar of Internet Explorer as you type (based on entries you have used before) and offers a list of choices under the Address bar or other links that start the same way. AutoComplete offers choices under the Address window as well, but does not complete the entry in the Address bar as you type.

  • Make sure that you understand how to delete temporary Internet files by using Disk Cleanup and from within Internet Explorer. Experiment with the various settings that govern temporary files to make sure that you understand their use.

Key Terms

Content Advisor Controls the display of sites based on rating levels defined by the RSACi.

cookie A small text file that a website creates and stores on your computer. Cookies detail what users’ preferences are, what they purchased, and any personal information offered by the user.

home page The website that opens automatically when you start Internet Explorer.

Internet Options The dialog box available in Internet Explorer for configuring program settings.

security zones Contain a list of websites deemed to have similar security settings requirements. You can configure a different security level for each zone and then place sites into zones according to the sites’ levels of trust.

Temporary Internet files Cached files. Temporary Internet files allow a user to use the Back and Forward buttons, access History, and use offline files and folders. Retrieving information from the Temporary Internet Files folder is much faster than retrieving information from the Internet.
