The Project Management Institute (PMI)

If you plan to be a Certified Project Manager, we recommend that you acquaint yourself with the Project Management Institute (PMI). This is the organization that will provide support and educational opportunities for you.

Being part of this body of dedicated and learned professionals will greatly assist and support you in your own efforts as a project manager.

We also recommend that you seek out your local PMI chapter. Many of the local chapters provide study groups and seasoned professionals who can provide assistance and encouragement as you go through the certification process. The local chapters generally provide monthly or bimonthly meetings with guest speakers who can also enhance your project management knowledge. Although our book is an excellent resource guide, study groups and partners can provide you with reinforcement of the information.
