Development Plan

Over the next three weeks, the Flash and ColdFusion teams will develop all of the necessary interactions needed to complete the application. The ColdFusion team began by reviewing the programming task list that was previously created. From this task list they have put together the following development plan:

1. Design a database

2. Create a database

3. Create a component for Flash to verify that the user has an Internet connection

4. Create log-in functionality

5. Create user components

6. Create admin components

The Flash team also began its development by reviewing the programming task list. It has established the following development plan:

1. Iterate the design prototype

2. Create a Flash movie with application states

3. Design movie clips for the application states

4. Create ActionScript to interact with the user

5. Create ActionScript to interact with the administrator

Even though the two teams are primarily focused on their own parts of the application, they will need to interact with each other on a daily basis to make sure the two halves of the application will communicate properly. With their respective plans laid out, the two teams have decided that the best way to segment the development process is into these phases:

1. Database design

2. Flash design and setup

3. ColdFusion setup

4. Flash initial code

5. Test for Internet connection

6. User log-in

7. User interactions

8. Admin interactions

9. Testing and staging

By segmenting the development effort, the teams can accurately gauge how well the development effort is flowing. Now that the development road map has been laid out, the teams have set out to create the application.
