Chapter Summary

only for RuBoard

This chapter looked at using the DOM as a storage mechanism behind the scenes. You saw how to retrieve information from the DOM, create nodes on the DOM, and how to update information.

This application made extensive use of ADO.NET, using various techniques to access columns within a DataTable . You saw how to determine the schema for a table quickly, and saw how you can build robust applications by using ADO.NET.

The generated code might not be what you are looking for in a production application. For example, it lacks the capability to add or delete rows. But, this sample gives you a great head start toward understanding code blowers and dynamic page generators. It also uses a bit of XML and ASP.NET behind the scenes, serving as a great tutorial application.
