I Miss Flash 5

I don't think too many people actually miss Flash 5 as a whole, but it did have one quality that people talk about to this day. That would be the span-based selection in the Timeline. For those of you who never saw it, it does have its benefits, although it takes some getting used to. Either way, if you want it back, all you have to do is pay a visit to your preferences window (CTRL-U or Flash > Preferences on Mac) and put a check by Span based selection.

This will allow you to select a sequence of frames from one keyframe to the next in your Timeline by simply clicking any frame in between. You can also grab the end of a frame sequence and drag all at once to resize that sequence. If this helps you in your work, then never fear: Macromedia has listened carefully and kept the Flash 5 span-based Timeline around as an option.
