The following section demonstrates how USA processes relate to CMMI process areas. Remember that organization's processes and CMMI PAs do not always map one to one and that is, of course, the case with USA. The discussion is organized from the model perspective. So, you will see the name of one or more process areas followed by a discussion of related USA processes. The discussion contains highlights, not a complete description, of what USA does.

Specific USA projects or products are mentioned only when relevant. The majority of the discussion does not mention this information. However, the process areas considered for each of the projects are illustrated in Figure 7.1.
