Summary

This chapter reviewed the new Oracle 10g Data Pump feature, the new enhancements for 10g external tables, and the major Data Pump features for 10g Release 2 10.2.0. Oracle 10g Data Pump not only supports all the functionality of the original export and import clients, but also supports many new features such as stop and restart support, remote operations from other databases, and job-size estimation. These new features and enhancements enable high-speed data and metadata movement within the Oracle 10g Database server, providing a dramatic increase in performance and manageability.
