While Heartbeat does not require the primary and the backup servers to have synchronized system clocks, the system times on the two servers should be within a few minutes of each other, or some high-availability services may misbehave under some circumstances. You should manually check and set the system time (with the date command) before starting Heartbeat on both systems.
Note | For a better long-term solution you should synchronize the clocks on both systems using the NTP software. |
