In Chapter 3, "Discovering Drawing Tools," you used the Preset Shape and Pen tools to create raster objects. These same tools, along with the Text tool, can create vector objects as well. Use the tools as vector tools on vector layers and raster tools on raster layers .
The shapes that Paint Shop Pro provides are the same for both raster and vector images. Select from rectangles, ellipses, stars, curved arrows, and a number of other fun shapes.
NOTE
If Create as vector is not checked, Paint Shop Pro draws the shape as a raster object.
The rectangle and other shapes are available to assist you in drawing with accuracy.
NOTE
Hold down the Shift key to constrain your drawing to a perfect circle, square, or other shape.
If, when choosing a preset shape, you leave the Retain style box checked, Paint Shop Pro draws the shape with the color and fill as displayed in the Tool Options palette sample box. You can, however, choose your own stroke and fill for a preset shape.
