An Inclusive Model

 < Day Day Up >

Over the last few years, more and more businesses have moved to the e-commerce delivery model, not to replace their “bricks-and-mortar,” but to supplement it. In this evolution, the early focus on a high “cool factor” has been replaced by sound, practical marketing and sales strategy incorporating light graphics, speed, knowledge resources, visibility, quick checkout and customer service. The only development that has fallen behind is security. Sound security posture in a constantly changing “threatscape” requires continual vigilance and people who are motivated, alert, aligned with the mission and technologicallycurrent. Security is only as good as the weakest link. An adequate security model, therefore, must include elements that go beyond perimeter security to consider internal and external factors, as well as people and processes.
