FONT BOOK: CREATING YOUR OWN CUSTOM PREVIEW TEXT

By default, the Font Panel preview text shows "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNO…etc.," and although seeing your fonts previewed like this can be helpful, it pales in comparison to seeing the font previewed using your own text from the project you're working on. Here's how to make that happen: Go to the font you want, then press Command-3 (the shortcut for Custom Preview). Now you can type in your own text over the highlighted copy in the preview window. Even cooler: You can copy-and-paste text right from your project (from InDesign or QuarkXPress) straight into the Custom Preview panel. Nice!
