Want to quickly create an alias for the document or folder you're working on? Just press Command-Option, then click-and-hold on the tiny icon that appears to the left of the document's name in its title bar and drag that little icon to your desktop. (By the way, that "tiny little icon" is technically called the "proxy icon," but that's just so…technical-sounding.)
