Citrix Password Manager is a secure, efficient, and easy-to-deploy enterprise single sign-on (SSO) solution for accessing password-protected Windows, Web, and host-based applications. Users authenticate once with a single password, and Password Manager automates logons , policy enforcement, and password changes, making connecting to applications easier, faster, and more secure. As a stand-alone solution or within the Citrix Access Suite, Password Manager improves password security, makes computing easy, and can lower help desk support costs.

Password Manager 4 is much improved over previous versions, with streamlined management and deployment, along with improved enterprise security and regulatory compliance. This release introduces self-service password resetthe first time that an enterprise single sign-on product allows users to reset their domain passwords from their PCs. For shared workstation environments, which are common for banks, hospitals , manufacturers, and retailers, Password Manager 4 introduces Hot Desktop to enable users to log on or off in seconds and eliminate generic logon accounts. The new release also features cryptographic signing to ensure the integrity of configuration settings and policies to guard against man-in-the-middle and phishing attacks.

Citrix has partnered with industry leaders like HP, RSA, and Secure Computing to provide integrated solutions with second-factor authentication, Identity Management, and Access Management.

Citrix Password Manager in general does not require any additional hardware in the Citrix Presentation Server server farm (the Password Manager database can run on the Citrix Data Store server or on another database server in the environment) and has a simple client component that can be installed on Presentation Server servers and/or on individual Windows client machines. Password Manager is not supported for UNIX clients, except in the case where the UNIX clients are running applications from a Windows Presentation Server farm.
