Know Your Limitations

I believe that one of the best pieces of advice that I ever received was Understand and embrace the things that you are not good at. We all know what we are good at, and many of us are happy to share our accomplishments with others. But, how many of us are willing to tell our friends about our missteps, or the things that we are not good at?

In my company, we have four main players: a marketing person, an operations person, a financial person and my role is that of a coach or quarterback. All of these individuals were hired because they were better at their particular area than I am. I am humble enough to realize that I am not the greatest in all areas. Knowing your limitations is essential for any company, especially in making sure that each position is contributing its full force to the growth of profit centers.
