For all the power that has made the BusinessObjects full client a market leader, much of the power is now in WebI version 6.0. Web-based reporting has never been so intuitive and robust, with mixed-block reports, multireport documents, an intuitive drill bar, and the ability to create formulas and reports. While the HTML Report Panel may lack some of these features, companies with extranet deployments will enjoy the zero-footprint client that helps you navigate the query and report building process. For companies who have been waiting for more functionality in WebI, now just may be the time to migrate more full client users to WebI. It’s true, you still can’t create user objects, but hey, that gives one more reason to ensure the objects are built into the universe, right?
