The first and second editions of Writing Secure Code (Microsoft Press) mainly focused on core secure coding principles, and touched on design and testing principles too. This book teaches and demonstrates how best to use the new security defenses and features within Windows Vista. If you already have Writing Secure Code, then Writing Secure Code for Windows Vista contains design and coding best practice as they apply to Windows Vista. This book is not a superset of Writing Secure Code, this book is an adjunct to Writing Secure Code.
