Selecting a Layer

Selecting a layer makes it the current or active layer so that the changes you make next will only apply to that layer. Layers are selected using the Layers palette.

1. Click on the name of the layer in the Layers palette. The layer will appear selected in the Layers palette, making it the active layer.

   

Tip

You can hide a layer's contents by clicking on the eye icon to the left of the layer's name in the Layers palette. The layer's content disappears immediately. Click on the spot where the eye icon previously appeared to redisplay the layer.
