IBM publishes an impressive array of manuals for the i5 that cover all aspects of the machine. You have There is no reason for you to obtain these manuals on paper, because most of them are available to you online through the Internet. Printed manuals also cost money. IBM charges a fee for most manuals, except for a few that are distributed free with the system.

Printed Manuals

Each manual has an identification code, such as SC41-8082-0. When you order a manual, IBM will asks you to provide the identification code. Some of the important manuals available from IBM and their identification codes are listed in this chapter.

Printed manuals are bulky and heavy, but easy to work with. You can see two whole pages at a glance, you can browse the manuals quickly by flipping the pages, and you can have open as many on your desk as space allows.
