Physical Files

Physical files are easy to describe in DDS because their structure is simple. Only one record format is allowed in a physical file. A physical file definition consists of little besides a record name, a series of field descriptions, and an optional key definition (if the file is keyed).

Afte you have coded the DDS for a physical file in a source member (type PF), you compile the source (create the file) using the Create Physical File (CRTPF) command.
