Chapter 16. Publishing on the Web


Using a Web browser to work with shared FileMaker records feels very similar to working with them within FileMaker itself (Figure 16.1). Thanks to script-driven buttons embedded in the layouts created by FileMaker's Instant Web Publishing, Web users can search records, update information, sort tables, and so on. Of course, the records are visible and open only to those users to whom you've granted permission. Permissions are set file by file using a mix of accounts and associated privilege sets, which work just like those you set up in Chapter 15 for inhouse networking. (See in Sharing on page 243.)
