16.1 Documentation Activities (Specifications and Design)

Documentation activities are the first activities in product development, up to coding. These may be preliminary study, user requirement activity, and analysis and design. The activities are widely different, but, from the point of view of configuration management, the products they create don't differ much. Therefore, these activities are treated collectively here.

Identification

Table 16-1 shows document type designations for various configuration items. The unique identification must be in accordance with a general definition and details for each type.
