This chapter gave you a brief but visual overview of the SAP BW logon process. You also learned that logging on to SAP BW varies based on user type. If the user is an SAP BW administrator, logging on to SAP BW is similar to the logon process to SAP R/3. However, for users who access data from SAP BW, the logon process will vary. You also learned that most of the data analysis is performed in Microsoft Excel. At present, only the BEX Browser is Web based. In SAP BW 2.0B, you can implement a pure Web data access environment; however, the development process still requires SAPGUI or BEX Analyzer to compose queries before they are Web-enabled. SAP is planning to provide a pure Web reporting environment in the future in SAP BW 2.0B GA.
