Performing Special Operations


This section explains GoLive s shortcuts for working with links and for performing special operations ”everything from displaying the Visual Tag Editor dialog box to inserting text macros in your source code.

Keyboard Shortcuts for Working with Links

Windows [Ctrl]-[L], Mac [ z ]-[L]

Create a new link

Windows [Ctrl]-[Alt]-[Shift]-[L], Mac [ z ]-[Option]-[L]

Remove the selected link

Windows [Alt]-drag, Mac [ z ]-drag

Create a new link between the dragged item and its destination

Select the item you want to link, hold down [Alt] or [ z ], drag the item to its destination, and release it when GoLive applies a highlight to the destination.

Windows [Ctrl]-drag, Mac [ z ]-drag

Link the dragged frame to the page

Hold down [Ctrl] or [ z ] and drag the frame to the target page in the site window.

Windows [Ctrl]-[Shift]-[E], Mac [ z ]-[Shift]-[E]

Display the Visual Tag Editor dialog box

Windows [Ctrl]-[Shift]-[A], Mac [ z ]-[Shift]-[A]

Add the selected word to the keywords list

Windows [Ctrl]-[Alt]-[Shift]-[J], Mac [ z ]-[Option]-[T]

Start setting the tab index order

Windows [Ctrl]-[Shift]-[B], Mac [ z ]-[Shift]-[B]

Issue a Select Upper Block command

The Select Upper Block command selects the parent HTML element of the selected element. The parent element is the element in the next level up the hierarchy that encloses the selected element.

Windows [Ctrl]-[Shift]-[M], Mac [ z ]-[Shift]-[M]

Insert the specified text macro in the source code

Type the name of the macro, and then press this shortcut to enter its contents. Text macros aren t case sensitive, so you can type the name in whichever case suits you.

Windows [Ctrl]-[Alt]-[Shift]-[I], Mac [ z ]-[Option]-[Shift]-[I]

Display the Document Statistics dialog box
