This chapter started with a brief introduction to XML DOM by discussing the role of XML DOM, its advantages and the object model of XML DOM. After that, you looked at how to use the various objects contained in the XML DOM. You also saw the steps involved in creating, reading, and modifying nodes in an XML document using the various classes of XML DOM. In addition, you also understood the steps involved in manipulating attributes stored in an XML document. Finally, you understood the various functions supported by XML DOM including the use of transforming an XML document into HTML using XSL, and the steps involved in validating an XML document.
