Need Your Letters on Separate Layers ?

Set your type in Illustrator and position it.

1. Select the type and choose Type>Create Outlines.

2. Select the layer in the layers palette and toggle the triangle by the layer name .

3. Select the group layer and go to the layer palette menu.

4. Choose Release to Layers (Sequence).

5. In the layers palette, select the layers of your text (shift click to select more than one layer) and drag them out of the group.

6. Delete the empty layer by dragging it to the trash.

7. Double click on each layer and name them the letter they contain.

8. Import as a composition (cropped layers) into AE and animate.
