Acrobat comes with approximately 50 predefined preflight profiles. Any of these can be used as-is or modified. You can also create a new profile with your own custom settings. New profiles appear in the list along with the preset profiles.

1.
Select a Profile

From the Advanced menu, select Preflight . This opens the Preflight dialog box. Select the profile you want to edit and click the Edit button. The Preflight: Edit Profile dialog box appears.

TIP

If you would prefer to not alter any of the preset profiles, you can create your own custom profile. To create a new profile, click the Create a New Preflight Profile button (the first button under the list of profiles), rename the profile, select a category under the new profile, and set any desired rules. Be sure to click the Save button periodically as you are specifying rules.

2.
Edit a Profile

Before you edit a profile, it must first be unlocked. Click the arrow on the Locked button in the Preflight: Edit Profile dialog box, and then select Unlocked . After the profile is unlocked, you can modify the rules and conditions. Click the plus sign next to the profile to expand the rules.
