The next task on the To Do List is to activate new licenses for the network’s client computers or reissue existing licenses after reinstalling Windows Small Business Server. To perform this task, complete the following steps:
Click Start next to Add Client Licenses to launch the Add License Wizard and click Next on the Welcome page.
On the License Agreement page, review the license agreement, and if you agree, select I Agree and click Next.
On the Contact Method page, select the Internet or telephone as a method of connecting. Click Next.
On the License Code Information page, type the license codes that were provided when you purchased Windows Small Business Server or the license codes you purchased later.
Note | To transfer licenses from one computer to another, use the Transfer License Wizard. Launch Server Management from the Start menu, click Licensing, and then click Transfer Licenses in the details pane. |
Check that each code is correct and then click Next.
If you’re connecting through the Internet, the wizard will continue and the license codes will be activated. If connecting by telephone, call the number the wizard provides and provide the Installation IDs from the Telephone Information page. Write down the confirmation IDs and type them in when requested.
